The Fire-on-the-Mountain Cloggers

As we do each year, the Fire on the Mountain Cloggers strive to promote the true spirit of the Texas Folklife Festival by combining the talents of various
groups. Perhaps the hit of the one of
our shows was the combination of The Ledbetters band,
the San Antonio 
Pipes
and Drums, the Fire on the Mountain Cloggers, and
numerous 
wannabe
cloggers from the audience performing the traditional
The Festival is a time for
sharing our cultural heritage. Can you
count to three with your feet? Can you
make music without any musical instruments?
Many of the stages found audience members joining Fire on the Mountain
in “performing” some basic clogging 
steps,
some old time hambone techniques, and a little bit of fancy twirling.
For Fire on the Mountain the
final show was a fitting ending for a joyous and captivating fun filled time. We look forward to repeating this celebration
of life in 2007.
